Already the buzz about the development of Dorothy’s Derby Chronicles series is beginning. With a background in public relations and marketing, the project team knows how to brand, position and promote a project. Unlike other authors, Dorothy’s Derby Chronicles book series brings strong marketing allies to the table. Here is how we will market the project to ensure every skater in the world knows about this hilarious and timely roller derby series for girls.

Spread in 5 on 5 Magazine.

Project Website – – Here we post roller derby news, list roller derby retailers, profile junior skaters every month and offer roller derby advice from the three main characters in a ‘Derby Dish’ blog.

Facebook Fans – – Our fan page is in place and we have new fans every day.

Merchandising – We have created 10 licensable T-shirts and products that we are ready to merchandise as the project builds. We are already selling our Slugs & Hisses logo and Hit Like a Girl Dorothy’s Derby Chronicles t-shirts on roller derby merchandise site Wicked Skatewear

Speaking Engagements – Through the project development the Dorothy’s Derby Chronicles team has been reading aloud to elementary school classes.

PR/Publicity – Girl power and positive self-image for young girls makes for great media. We will create a publicity plan that includes media opportunities and stories in media across the country. As an active player, the author can skate with teams and host reading groups across the country and sponsor events. Already Dorothy’s Derby Chronicles has been featured in the Denver Business Journal, FOX31, CW2, The Denver Post, Mom TV, HangProud tween site, Ari Speaks blog and in a full spread in Five on Five Magazine, the official magazine of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), read by thousands of roller derby players.

YouTube – – Our branded YouTube page features animated bumper shorts featuring all our characters.
